DIRECTOR: Hello there!
JILL'S JOURNEY SWITCHING TO VUMERITY
JILL: Hi, I’m Jill. Welcome to my home!
DIRECTOR: Nice to meet you, Jill. It’s so great to be here. You have such a beautiful home.
JILL: Thank you!
DIRECTOR: How many years have you been living here?
JILL: About 23 years.
DIRECTOR: Wow, that’s wonderful.
JILL: Yes, why don’t you come on in? I’ll show you around a little bit.
JILL: So this is where, um, me and my dogs hang out most of the day. Um, we like to cuddle on the couch and then I like to hang out in here and play Canasta with my family as well.
DIRECTOR: You play Canasta?
JILL: I do. Since I retired, I had to come up with some things to do. So, I came up with Canasta. I play Mahjong. I play pickleball with my sister.
DIRECTOR: That’s awesome. I’m struck by how many pictures you have here. Is this your family?
JILL: This is my family. My daughter, Melissa, and her husband, Dan.
DIRECTOR: How important is family to you?
JILL: Family is the most important thing to me.
JILL: You know, I don’t think I would feel as strong as I am in my MS journey if I didn’t have such wonderful support of my family.
DIRECTOR: That’s great, looking forward to meeting them.
JILL: Why don’t you come into my kitchen?
JILL: Hi! This is my husband, Stephen.
STEPHEN: Hello.
DIRECTOR: Nice to meet you.
STEPHEN: Nice to meet you.
DIRECTOR: So how long have you two been married?
STEPHEN: Oh, it'll be 34 years in two more weeks.
DIRECTOR: Wow, congratulations.
JILL: Thank you.
STEPHEN: I made you coffee.
JILL: Oh, thank you so much.
STEPHEN: Surprise on the table.
JILL: He actually does that quite frequently for me, which I love.
DIRECTOR: So, this is the dining room. Is that a portrait of you?
JILL: It is me. My husband has nicknames for everybody and, honestly, he didn't have a nickname for me. So, I told him he could start calling me The Queen.
DIRECTOR: Ah love it. So, what else is meaningful to you in this room?
JILL: I actually have this wonderful sign. And it says: You never know how strong you are until being strong is the only choice you have. When I was diagnosed having multiple sclerosis, it really changed my life. I decided that I needed to empower myself and get as much knowledge as I could of what multiple sclerosis was, what my life could be, and what I wanted my life to be.
DIRECTOR: How do you live your life with MS?
JILL: I don’t say that I have MS, therefore I can’t. I say I have MS, therefore I can. Just a little different.
DIRECTOR: What kind of medication did you try?
JILL: I was on an injectable for years. I didn’t like that.
DIRECTOR: Why did you decide to switch to VUMERITY?
JILL: After speaking with my doctor, switching to VUMERITY was an easy decision for me.
I was on a medication and it went generic and we had decided that we would try VUMERITY.
DIRECTOR: What do you like about taking a pill?
JILL: I chose to switch to a pill because it fits my lifestyle better. So when I go to travel and I have to take my medication with me, I take my pill bottle, I put it in my pocketbook, and I’m able to get on the plane and travel with it, and this way I always have my medicine available to me.
Super: If taken with food, avoid taking with a high-fat, high-calorie meal or snack.
DIRECTOR: So, how are you doing on VUMERITY?
JILL: I'm doing awesome on VUMERITY. I have had no new flare-ups and no new lesions. Of course, everybody's experience could be different, but this is my experience.
DIRECTOR: How are you feeling about the future with VUMERITY?
JILL: Hopefully, I could stay on VUMERITY forever, and I hope that I don't have any more flare-ups or lesions. And I hope I can continue living my life the way that I am now.
DIRECTOR: Talk to your healthcare provider to see if VUMERITY is right for you.
